Innovative Sound Reduction Material That Absorbs Vibrations to Block Impact Noise from Upper Floors

Silent Drop is FUKUVI’s next-generation solution for reducing heavy-weight floor impact sound —one of the most persistent sound issues in modern buildings, caused by footsteps, dropped objects, or furniture movement from upper floors.

While increasing concrete slab thickness can improve impact sound insulation by one or two grades, it adds substantial structural load, often requiring reinforced beams and columns. This approach is costly, invasive, and impractical for many projects.

Silent Drop offers a lightweight, effective alternative. By placing it above the ceiling, its specially engineered granular material absorbs vibration energy transmitted through suspension bolts, significantly reducing noise without increasing structural load or altering ceiling height.

How Silent Drop Works

Installed on top of the ceiling furring, Silent Drop acts as a vibration absorber. The internal granular layer reduces the transmission of vibrational energy carried through suspension bolts. This suppresses ceiling board movement and effectively lowers impact noise—without requiring structural changes.
